Who would be the audience for your media product?

I think that males and females within the age of 15-25 would go to watch this film. People watch thrillers so that they can gain an insight into others’ circumstances and emotions. People within our targeted age group also watch thrillers because they want to start conversation with others as thrillers are both action packed and take a lot of thought to work out thus conversation can be generated. We watch thrillers as they offer us escapism from everyday life.  They are not relaxing films as they create a lot of suspense therefore thrillers are seen so that people can view the extreme differences of identity and compare it to themselves. 
A film that is similar to ours would be Se7en which was directed by David Fincher. This type of thriller between the character’s emotional and mental state would attract an older, more intelligent audience similarly to our target audience. These types of thrillers also have some kind of mystery to work out and there is also an element of horror in them allowing the audience to feel quite disturbed until the end. 

  According to the bbfc, when judging what certificate a film should get examiners look at issues such as discrimination, drugs, horror, behaviour and violence. They also consider the context of the film and the impact of the work (how it affects the audience)

Therefore, we decided to provide this film with a certificate of 15  due to the enigma and unsettling imagery that would be presented as the films plot unravelled. We aimed for our target audience to feel unsettled throughout the film and we think that we achieved this through our chosen target audience.

The people within our target audience would be both male and female and have various styles that maybe unique to the individual.

Male audience:

Shop at: Topman, Burton

Enjoys: Being physically active, playing video games and likes adrenaline rushes

Listens to: Classic Rock, Rap 

  This person is a prime example of the male audience as he enjoys adrenaline rushes therefore he seeks to be thrilled. This type of person would mostly go to see our film and be fully engaged into the world of Broken. due to the stimulating camera angles, dark lighting and eerie silence from the lack of dialogue. 

Female audience:

Shops at: Topshop, New Look

Enjoys: going out with friends, fashion shopping and seeks to be thrilled

Listens to: RnB, Hip-Hop

  Similarly to the male audience, the female audience would want to have an enjoyable thrilling time with her friends thus, they would go to see a film that is dark, mysterious and extremely thrilling.
